“Ashtavakra Gita teachings for daily life”

As the discussion between Muni Ashtavakra and King Janaka
takes a leap, he tries to touch base upon the grassroot problems of mankind. He
says that all sorts of seeking and longing comes to an end when we know that we
are ‘Nirakar” which is formless. To resolve the problems of your life at
grassroot level it’s the understanding that requires clarity.
An understanding that
leaf is not different from the entire tree, then you get to see the whole tree
in a small leaf. Hence, it is to know that in this entire world you are one with it. You build a sense of
oneness with all happiness and the pain of the entire world. The entire meaning
of your existence changes when you realize that you are one with the absolute.
You are “Vishwa Sakshi” (Witness of the Universe).
When we see something, the range of the spectrum of our view
of that object hovers between fear and desire. When we end this craving of being free from this thought, which is a constant practice, then we get into the door that opens up a new
world of liberation for us. The liberation is not from this world but from the
very thought of self that we constantly are holding on to.
The fact is that, if we operate against the laws of the universe, we’ll be at
the state of dis-ease. We are neither the “Karta” (the doer) nor the “Bhogta”
(the experiencer). Have you ever taken the credit for breathing considering
that it is controlled by you, and you are breathing at your will, no right? It is
happening inevitably.
